Senior Human Resources Representative

 Job Description:The primary function for this human resources position is to be a high performing business partner striving to achieve plant objectives that ultimately serve Kennametal's global customer base.  Working under the direction of the HR Manager, the selected candidate will support the facility's human resource programs and day-to-day personnel activities in accordance with legal, divisional, and corporate guidelines.  This position supports both the Henderson, NC and Kingston (Latrobe) PA Manufacturing Facilities.
Experience and Skills:


Essential functions:  Build the people management capabilities of local managers through HR tools and practices o      Retention, Staffing, Recruitment, Employee Relations, Conflict and Change Management o      Create and build a performance culture ·       Analyze and act on workforce metrics and staff KPIs (key performance indicators) o      People Metrics (e.g., turnover, promotions) and perform analyses identifying trends both positive and  negative o       Intervene at the first sign of a problem and communicate best practices at the sign of positive results ·        Anticipate and plan for future workforce needs o      Staffing Plan linked to business plan o      Set annual/quarterly hiring targets and manage internal movement ·        Positively impact the facilities talent management o       Needs assessment, gap analysis, skill development, Development Plan execution o       Upgrade overall management of talent ·        Implement Corporate/Worldwide HR initiatives o       Participate and manage the implementation of strategic HR initiatives o       Create change management plans for traction and execution o       Drive total rewards strategy ·        Implement Local Employer of Choice HR solutions o       Partner with headquarters and other facilities in the design of EOC programs o       Identify local opportunities consistent with the business plan o       Build local employment brand and performance culture ·        Exercise local leadership and influence o       Elevate business impact beyond HR matters   Required Experience: Bachelor of Science Degree in Human Resources, Labor Relations, Organizational Psychology (or related field). Masters or MBA a preferred Three to five (3-5) years of progressive HR experience with expertise in and a strong working knowledge of general HR functional areas in a manufacturing environment. Customer service focused, competent in all facets of HR, demonstrates strong leadership skills and is an effective team member. Strong facilitation, verbal and written communication skills Proven organizational and problem solving skills and a demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks while maintaining timeliness and accuracy. Ability to influence and implement HR initiatives, streamline/enhance processes, and drive projects to completion Proven coaching and conflict management skill. Experience conducting research and analyzing data for human resources initiatives Ability to organize and prioritize projects. Working experience with applicable federal and state employment law Experience in manufacturing or distribution environment Candidates MUST BE GEOGRAPHICALLY MOBILE to progress their career path within the organization. Relocation Assistance will be provided Experience in a unionized work environment required
