Senior Engineering Technician

SENIOR ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN - City of Fresno, CA – Compensation:   $22.62-27.30/hour.  The City of Fresno is currently accepting applications for Senior Engineering Technician.  The work involves AutoCAD drafting, preparation of street improvement layouts and exhibits, estimation of quantities and preparation of cost estimates for future street improvement projects.  The positions are temporary (non-permanent) and do not include benefits.  Positions offer flexible scheduling & may be full-time or part-time. REQUIREMENTS:  Twenty-four (24) units of college level course work in engineering, geometry, trigonometry, drafting, surveying, or related field; and two (2) years of experience equivalent to that gained as an Engineering Technician II with the City of Fresno (qualifying equivalent experience should include, performing technical engineering and cost computations, preparing plans, specifications, sketches and exhibits, drafting & map making duties related to engineering & planning projects, land-use studies, zoning matters, traffic engineering studies, and land division entitlement map processing & reviewing legal descriptions under the responsible charge of a professional engineer licensed to perform land surveying by the State of California.)  Ideal candidates should possess knowledge of land division processes and records.  Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education.  SPECIAL REQUIREMENT(S): Possession of a valid California Driver License is required at time of appointment.   TO APPLY:  Submit a completed application to the City of Fresno Human Resources Department, 2600 Fresno Street, 1st Floor, Fresno, CA  93721-3614, or fax to (559) 498-4775.  Application materials may be obtained at www.fresno.gov.  Candidates may be contacted for interviews upon City receipt of the application.  EOE
