Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Senior Development Geologist located in Houston, Texas.Overview:Based in Houston, Texas, Chevron Africa and Latin America Exploration and Production is engaged in some of Chevron's most innovative and challenging projects.Qualifications:Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: Work on non-associated gas fields involving shallow water deltaic and shelf carbonate reservoirs. Integrate geological studies in support of appraisal drilling and development planning (e.g. mapping of NAG fields, G&G evaluation of fields, reservoir characterization and the production of structure and net pay maps). Work with reservoir modelers to create and update geocellular models of the NAG fields. Work on operations geology for drilling. Monitor appraisal drilling and provides timely technical input for drilling decisions. Developing geologic drilling program (well prognosis, formation evaluation, coring, and testing programs). Monitor drilling and quick formation evaluations to provide advice to drilling operation. Coordinate geological services (logging, coring, cuttings transfer, paleo, etc). Provide timely prognosis and geological advice during drilling. Travel to Angola occasionally to coordinate projects.Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Earth Science or related discipline. A minimum of 10 years work related experience. Experience with reservoir characterization of complex clastic and carbonate gas reservoirs for appraisal programs and field development. Experience with interpreting 3D seismic datasets. Experience working with reservoir modelers to create and update geocellular models. Ability to identify and utilize appropriate experts. Ability to present and defend technical program and plans in subject matters experts forum as part of technical assurance process and governmental agencies for approvals.Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree in Earth Science or related discipline.
