SENIOR COST ESTIMATOR-TRANSPORTATION

We are currently seeking a Senior Project Cost Estimator for a project located in the New York City area.  Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:  Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.  Prepare change order estimates to establish negotiating position.  Provide support in price negotiations.  Prepare claim analyses and estimates.  Prepare estimates of construction costs based on engineering drawings, specs and sketches.  Review contractor’s claims and proposals for merit and accountability. 

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years experience in construction estimating of major Transportation Transit Infrastructure Projects.  Field experience is preferred.  Prefer BS or BA in engineering, construction management or a closely related field.  Extensive experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders.  Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to quickly identify differences.
