There is an immediate opening for a Senior Cost Estimator within our Specialty Materials Engineering Services & Equipment Business Unit located in Des Plaines, IL. This position is to provide technical cost estimating support to internal and external UOP customers.
 
Accountabilities of this position include:
Developing different classes of cost estimates, equipment, equipment factored and semi-detailed type for single and multi-unit refinery type complexes for both revamps and new units. Support Sales in their development of customer proposals. Maintaining good business relations with suppliers in order to keep current all material and equipment indices. Provide UOP engineering with cost value approaches for equipment and flow schemes. Meeting commitments of quality and schedule for all assignments. 
 
 
Basic Candidate Requirements: 
Minimum high school diploma required. Minimum 10 years experience in the refinery / petrochemical or heavy equipment manufacturing industry is required. 5+ years experience in an estimating role using computer based estimating systems, preferably Aspen-Kbase. Ability for some travel to customer sites and EPC contractor offices. US employment authorization required. Additional Candidate Qualifications:
BS degree in an Engineering Discipline is preferred. Knowledge of Aspen-Kbase cost estimating program. Excellent oral and written communication skills. A demonstrated ability to interface effectively with external customers as well as with UOP internal customers. A background in refinery type mechanical equipment, piping layout and instrument specifications preferred.
