Job Description Senior Associate Electrical Engineer Burns & McDonnell has an exciting opportunity in our St. Louis office in our Process & Industrial group for a Senior Associate Electrical Engineer. This position provides leadership, guidance and technical advice to less experienced staff members. This position will assist with the supervision of the Electrical Department staff including engineers and drafters, on major projects. Other responsibilities include conceiving, planning and coordinating investigations of considerable scope and complexity with unique or controversial problems which have a major effect on company projects and programs. Initiating and maintaining extensive contacts with key individuals of other organizations, requiring skill in persuasion and negotiation of critical issues is an integral part of the job. This position regularly meets and corresponds with clients or outside personnel. Other duties will be assigned. Qualified candidates will possess a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from an accredited program and have a minimum of 21 years of related experience (completion of a master's degree in a related field may be substituted for one year of experience). This position requires extensive project management, technical design, engineering and staff management experience as well as direct design and management of concurrent engineering, facility design and construction projects including checkout, startup and FDA compliance. Excellent written & verbal communication skills as well as strong analytical and problem solving skills are required. This position needs an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. The candidate must be capable of devising new approaches to problems encountered. Previous consulting experience is preferred.
