Sales Engineer - Subsea Equipment

Subsea equipment division of a international multi billion dollar Engineering firm, located in the Westchase Business District, has a need for a Sales Engineer with a subsea equipment background.

 

General Summary:

Works with the appropriate Sales Manager(s) in support of sales activities and prospects. Identifies market opportunities from a mainly technical perspective and coordinates with the necessary technical/engineering resources to complement overall objectives and strategies towards the market and/or specific Customer base. Focuses on the needs of the Customer in developing new and creative solutions and as such supports the sales and marketing effort not only through Customer contact but by also providing the necessary input into sales plans and tenders.

 

Essential Functions:

1. Develops and gives technical product presentations to Customers
2. Maintains contact with and works effectively towards customer engineers/technical staff
3. Recognizes and recommendations new technical opportunities
4. Provides technical product input into marketing materials, including tenders
5. Provides input into or leads technical clarifications with Customers, including responding to Requests For Information (RFI)
6. Assists Sales Manager(s) by providing input into monthly prospect and forecast reports
7. Represent Aker Kvaerner at industry events and assist in or lead participation via papers and presentations

 

Job Specifications:

1. Four (4) year technical degree or experience equivalent
2. Good understanding of energy industry business
3. Good overall understanding of subsea hardware, including trees, controls, manifolds, subsea distribution, and umbilicals
4. Specialized understanding in a particular subsea hardware type a benefit
5. Skills required: presentation, sales, technical savvy, and planning.
6. Strong interpersonal and communications skills, both verbal and written.
7. Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness, the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner, and the ability to work well under stress and time pressures.
