Sales Director for large Geophysical Software Company

The Skinny:  Must have a Geology background combined with recent sales / product management experience.

The Position:
The Director of Product and Services Marketing reports to the Chief marketing Officer leads a team of product Marketing Managers responsible for building marketing strategies and tactics to bring products and services to market resulting in revenue and growth.  This leadership role works as a team leader and individual contributor bridging the process gap between Product Management and Field Marketing.  The Director ensures corporate style guidelines, and brand standards are adhered to across all product lines.  Along with a team, the leader of Product Marketing builds and drives launch and sustaining marketing plans for products and service offerings.  The Director of Product Marketing refines raw positioning and messaging (received from Product Managers in MRDs) into crisp value propositions and drives programs and tactics for product and services sales training programs to raise the collective knowledge of our sales teams.
 
 
Primary Responsibilities:
·  Builds and mentors a team of product marketing managers with classic marketing training
·  Develop an achievable annual product marketing plan and budget aligned with overall marketing plan.
·  Work with Field Sales team to execute launch and sustaining marketing activities.
·  Work with Corporate Marketing and Product Management to build sales tools for launch readiness.
·  Drive brand throughout all deliverables and marketing programs
·  Create and execute compelling campaigns, programs and initiatives and measure results

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
·  BS or BA in marketing (or equivalent experience) required.
·  MBA with a focus in marketing or management preferred.
·  Geoscience or Engineering studies a plus.
 
Experience:
·  3 years leadership
·  7 years product marketing a technical or engineering technology product
 
Product Marketing Competencies:
·  Knows and lives the 4Ps and applies them
·  Able to articulate information about complex technologies in simple value proposition terms
·  Can execute lead generation programs and leverage CRM systems to support pipeline development
·  Can lead and drive product positioning and messaging workshops with product managers and others.

Management Competencies
·  Able to build and manage a product marketing team
·  Write weekly status reports keeping management and team members informed.
·  From time to time make presentations to executive leadership
·  Able to plan projects, deliver with focus on measuring results, preferably with Microsoft Project.
