Research and Development Scientist in the Field of Digital Image Processing
Nikon Research Corporation of America is seeking a consultant or contract employee to work on developing new imaging algorithms. This work is highly mathematical in nature and requires a solid background in mathematics, digital image processing, and related areas of signal processing and computer science. The candidate will be required to perform extensive Matlab and some C language coding. Other duties will include literary research, algorithm evaluation, and development of innovative solutions for theoretical and practical problems in imaging.
Time Frame: Open now (8-2008)
Duration: 6 to 12 months, with the possibility of conversion to a regular position.
Job Requirements: Ph.D. in Mathematics, Image Processing, or in a related field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, etc.), with primary work background in digital image processing. In depth knowledge of MATLAB, experience in C++ coding, background in signal processing theory. Experience and knowledge of pattern recognition techniques. Has developed and implemented algorithms which post process digital images. In particular, experience with pattern recognition, image enhancement, and image characterization is desired. Background working with DSPs, and dedicated high level processors is helpful, as is a background in probability and statistics. Minimum 5 years work experience.
