RESEARCH SCIENTIST/PROJECT DEVELOPMENT SCIENTIST, Broad Institute, to lead efforts to develop a comprehensive collection of cancer and matched normal specimens for genomic analysis. Will develop and maintain a broad-ranging network of scientific collaborations to support the establishment and analysis of this tumor tissue collection; work with Broad Cancer and Sequencing Program leadership to define cancer genome project goals and opportunities; and work closely and collaborate with Broad platforms--especially the Biological Samples Platform--that will lead operational specimen handling activities.

REQUIREMENTS: a Ph.D. in biology or biological science, an M.D., or comparable experience; at least seven to ten years' professional experience encompassing biomedical research, bioinformatics, and tissue analysis; significant experience with and knowledge of cancer biology, especially in targeted therapies, genomics, and/or the pathology of cancer; senior leadership experience in biomedical research and biospecimen analysis; and experience in all facets of biological sample handling, processing, QC, and storage conditions. Must be knowledgeable about local, state, and federal regulations related to biological specimen collection and patient privacy. Experience developing and managing bioinformatics programs needed.
