Research Dietician
RESEARCH DIETICIAN, Clinical Research Center (multiple openings, full- or part-time, 40-100%), to research, analyze, and enter nutrition information found on the nutrition fact panel (NFP) of commercial foods using a specific nutrition software system (NDSR). Process will be performed to provide 147 nutrient values for each food to establish a nutrient database of branded foods available in the U.S. market. Duties will include imputation of nutrients' value from information on the NFP using nutrition software (NDSR), researching and interpreting information from NFP, researching and evaluating the appropriate food ingredient selection from the NDSR database, assessing software-generated data and making necessary adjustments to weight of ingredients by following established guidelines to better match imputed nutrient value to NFP, establishing and performing QC procedures in imputation process, assisting in establishing a nutrient database for branded foods, appropriate selection of matching ingredients from database, researching description of ingredients to match database nutrients, and applying nutrition background to manually assess nutrient value when database does not provide.
REQUIREMENTS: strong analytical and research skills, solid knowledge of food ingredients and nutrition, advanced knowledge of food composition for determining macro and micronutrients, and ability to analyze and interpret nutrition data. Must be detail oriented and able to work independently. Experience working with NDSR or other nutrient database an asset. Good judgment and excellent interpersonal skills needed.
