R08-1139 Seismic Processing Geophysicist
RESPEC seeks a Seismic Processing Geophysicist to support its geological characterization programs across the world. Research Specialists Incorporated (RESPEC) is a consulting engineering firm supporting deep subsurface mining and energy storage industries. RESPEC was started in 1969, and the demands of the mining and energy storage sectors necessitate expansion to satisfy requirements for North-, South- and Central-American projects and prospective clients RESPEC employs approximately 150 people in the U.S. and is a world-recognized consultant in salt and potash mining engineering and geological characterization for both domal and bedded salt facilities. RESPEC supports conventional underground (dry) salt production and solution mining operations for both brine production and developing cavern space for storage. RESPEC’s goal is become a leading practitioner of seismic imaging and direct detection of salt-related geologic structures in both domal and bedded salt basins. The Geophysics will be part of RESPEC’s Mining and Geological Services team that presently has staff based in New York, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, New Mexico and Florida.
As our Seismic Processing Geophysist, you will be responsible for seismic data processing or subcontracting for such seismic processing and satisfying project needs for specialized processing, filtering, and visualization of 2D and 3D data sets. Both timely delivery and high-quality geophysical data visualization are essential to every mining and energy storage project, thus, all members of the Mining and Geological Services team must be committed to excellence for the sake of the safety and economic viability of our projects for our clients.
Coordinate the acquisition and development of RESPEC’s prototypical seismic data work stationProvide support ranging from field QC of data acquisition, selection of processing subcontractors, data filtering and 3D visualization including time slices, profiles and isochron maps; depth conversion Effectively manage geophysical proposals and projects
· Build and mentor a geophysical services group
The successful candidate must have a minimum of a Masters degree in Geophysics and five or more years of professional experience in seismic data processing. The candidate must have a proven history for technical report authorship, excellent interpersonal skills, and be able to communicate effectively in writing and orally. Candidate must have legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for any company, not just the company of current employment.
Salary depending on experience along with participation in an Annual Incentive Plan (AIP). Compensation includes a comprehensive, fringe-benefits package comprising medical, vision, dental, cafeteria plan, holidays, paid leave, 401(k) plan, ESOP plan, education, and professional societies.
