R&D Thermal Engineer Position

The R&D Thermal Engineer will be a key member of the R&D team and will be involved in implementing the company’s technical and product roadmaps by interfacing closely with other departments in the company, including Operations, and Sales and Marketing. The primary responsibility will be in design and development of two-phase cooling solutions such as vapor chambers and/or heat pipes, but may extend to include other solutions consistent with Amulaire’s roadmap. The R&D Thermal Engineer will be responsible for meeting technical, budget and schedule targets for all assigned projects, provide written test plans and reports, specify test equipment, meet the project schedules. This job will require periodic travel to Taiwan to interface with the manufacturing, materials, R&D and engineering team.

Responsibilities

 The R&D Thermal Engineer will work closely with our internal manufacturing and materials departments in developing two phase cooling solutions

 Provide technical expertise, as well as hands-on project guidance for product development.

 Ensure that the product is fully and correctly defined and documented.

 Meet and make presentations to customers about research at the Company and attend shows and conferences as needed.

 Act as a technical liaison between Amulaire and academia for day-to-day heat transfer research within the defined project objectives.

 Investigate grant opportunities and write proposals for research, if required.

 Assist with developing relevant technologies that support two phase cooling solutions.

 

Requirements

 The position will require travel, and may require extended (4 to 6 week) stay at our Taiwan factory.

 Able to work independently as well as in a team environment. .

 Strong skills in thermal testing, measurement and data analysis, and reliability testing (such as wick characterization and optimization).

 Ability to perform thermal simulations is desirable

 Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

 MS in Engineering or Science with a concentration in an advanced aspect of thermal engineering.
