Project Manager for Water Quality

Candidate must have Bachelors or Masters in environmental engineering, environmental sciences, chemistry, hydrology or related field. Candidate must have 8 yrs experience in water resources. At least 3 years experience in project management. PE or other applicable license is preferred. Candidate must know MS Office, including MS Project. The candidate must possess excellent organizational, project management and time management skills and be capable of working independently, coordinating multiple subcontractors, and interfacing with clients and stakeholders. Good communication skills and writing skills. Ability to travel. Candidate should have significant experience in at least one of the following areas: watershed assessment and management; NPDES permitting; wastewater treatment; water reuse/recycling; water quality monitoring. Must be able to demonstrate strong project management experience. Must be proficient in MS Project or other scheduling software and have considerable experience in budgeting and cost tracking. Job Description : Major responsibilities include marketing, managing large and complex projects, overseeing technical staff, coordinating field work, preparing work plans and reports, and meeting with clients. The candidate will participate in developing marketing and business strategies and targeting new growth areas. This position will utilize a wide range of skills, both technical and managerial. The successful candidate will complete the URS project management certification program within the first year, and additional technical and management training will be supported as needed. This position is in the Water Quality Group within the Water Environment Department in the Oakland office. The candidate will have the opportunity to work with people in various technical groups in the Oakland office as well as other offices. Strong verbal and written communication skills are required, with some client contact. Candidate must be able to demonstrate strong project management experience in a consulting environment.
