PROJECT MANAGER II

ANCHORAGE, ALASKA

 

Michael Baker Jr. Inc., a division of Michael Baker Corporation, seeks a Gas / Petroleum Pipeline Project Manager (PROJECT MANAGER II) for our Anchorage, AK office. 

 

Michael Baker Jr. Inc. has been a presence in Alaska for more than 65 years providing cold regions engineering. Baker’s services in Alaska concentrate on pipeline design; H&H, civil, and geotechnical design; and environmental regulatory support. Current work includes supporting pipeline projects on the North Slope, the annual Colville River spring breakup hydrological assessment, and engineering studies and support for natural gas pipeline projects. The Alaska office employs about 30 professional engineers and support staff.

 

Responsibilities/ Description:  Interact with major Alaska oil and gas pipeline clients. Manage small teams of engineers, designers, CADD technicians, and support personnel on pipeline projects that encompass both new and modification of existing systems in arctic and subarctic environments and that range from conceptual engineering through final detailed design and construction. Responsible for project budgets, schedules, and quality of final engineering and reports. Strong writing skills will support technical reports and proposals. Excellent verbal communication skills will support client management, staff development and supervision, and project management. Moderate overnight travel to projects sites will be required, including work in arctic field conditions.

 

Requirements:4-year degree10 years experience (8 years with M.A.) in oil and/or gas projects focused on pipelines and/or pipeline inspection. Demonstrated success in leading, coordinating, and directing project personnel for project success as measured by schedule, budget, scope creep, and staff and client satisfaction/retention/recidivism.

 

Preferences:Professional Engineer (P.E.) Project Management Professional (PMP)Arctic pipeline and Alaska North Slope experience20 years experience
