Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Project Manager located in Richmond, CA. Overview:This open position at the Chevron Richmond refinery will coordinate activities required for the successful installation of components of an electrical power system which include but are not limited to transmission and distribution system, substation and switching stations at different voltage levels from 115KV down to 480V switchgear.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:Project Management• Develops and lead the execution of project plan and follows the Chevron (CVX) developed 5-phase project development and execution process (CPDEP)• Creates and executes project work plans and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements. • Awards and manages Engineering contract.• Awards and manages multiple construction contracts.• Awards and manages material and equipment procurement.• Liaisons work between the engineering and construction contractors. • Identifies resources needed and assigns individual responsibilities. • Manages day-to-day operational aspects of a project and scope. • Reviews deliverables prepared by team including engineering firm and construction contractors. • Effectively applies CVX methodology and enforces project standards. • Prepares for engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures. • Minimizes CVX exposure and risk on project. • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and stored appropriately. Project Accounting• Tracks and reports team hours and expenses. • Manages project budget. • Ensures timely and accurate invoice payments. Financial Management• Understands basic revenue models and cost-to-completion projections and makes decisions accordingly. • Accurately forecasts expenditure and project progress. Communication• Facilitates team meetings effectively. • Holds regular status meetings with project team. • Keeps project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news. • Effectively communicates relevant project information to superiors. • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations. • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion. • Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Technical Understanding • Possesses technical understanding of electrical power systems.• Possesses general understanding in the areas of application programming, database and system design. • Understands Internet, Intranet, Extranet and client/server architectures. • Possesses a thorough understanding of CVX capabilities. • Maintains awareness of new and emerging technologies and the potential application on client engagements.
