About the Opportunity:

Crown Solutions is seeking a Project Field Engineer for a position located at our headquarters in Vandalia, OH. The ideal candidate will assist the project managers in the installation and startup of field projects. The project field engineer will be responsible for the installation and hookup of all equipment installed in the field and work under the direction of the project manager assigned. All electrical and mechanical field connections will be completed under this individual’s direction. The verification of connections and startup of the equipment will be performed by or under the direction of the field engineer. This will include acting as a liaison between the contractors and maintenance personnel and the project manager to insure that the installations and startup are performed properly. On large projects, the lead project field engineer will give direction to other field engineers.

 Job Responsibilities:

·  Works with the field engineers to help coordinate the efforts of other project field engineers in an effort to keep focus on the tasks required to get the job completed in a timely manner.

·  Provides a high level of technical support and problem solving ability.

·  To work with the design engineering and project management groups throughout the entire duration of a project in an effort to aid in the review of the designs to insure that all elements of the design can be satisfactorily be installed, started up and will function as required.

·  Work with field contractors to give them instructions on how to perform electrical and mechanical hookups.

·  Interact with the design engineering and project management group to help solve problems quickly with limited confusion.

·  To facilitate technical communications between the design engineering, supply chain and other entities; and the field contractors and engineers performing the installation work.

·  To perform changes in PLC programming to facilitate improvements in the design and operation.

·  Work with the project manager to develop the pre check and in field checks required to insure a project is ready for startup.

·  To aid in the determination of the final testing and validation requirements of the systems installed in the field. 

·  To work with the customer and the project manager to gain final sign off on all final project close out documentation.

·  Aid in determining the overall requirements of manuals and technical documents, and participate in the writing of these documents.

·  To have input to the development of methods and procedures used manage projects.

·  And other responsibilities assigned to insure the timely completion of projects.

 Job Requirements:Preference is a four year degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or similar program with 10 or more years of relevant experience and previous experience in a leadership role.Strong working knowledge of PLC’s, electrical components like motors, mechanical elements like pumps and valves is required.Has solid working knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems design and associated design methods.Has several years of experience performing work on field engineered projects.Has technical writing skills and can write technical reports and documents.Has experience with the use of other key software programs including:

o MS Outlook

o MS Word

o MS Excel

o MS ProjectRequires very limited supervision and assists in the supervision and management in the electrical controls group as dictated by projects assigned and by the electrical controls engineering manager.Travel of up to 60% will be required.Has the ability to learn quickly and advance upon what has been learned.Requires excellent communications skills.
