Project Engineer, Engine Testing
Ensures a smooth operation of assigned dynamometer based engine tests. Interfaces routinely with external customers in preparation for up coming tests and tests in progress to assure tests are performed according to test specifications while ensuring that stand downtime is minimized.Communicate the test purpose and specification to all involved in the testing process. Determine and define test stand requirements for each test. Coordinate test stand changes. Implement programming changes as needed. Monitor test performance to assure results are accurate and valuable to the customer. Daily stand inspections and communication with lab personnel required.Communicate test data, status, problems and errors to customer in a professional manner.Prepare and validate final test results.
Experience with dynamometer based engine testing (primarily diesel engine technology and aftertreatment systems) is required. Basic knowledge/familiarity/experience with engine electronic controls of gasoline or diesel engines required.Experience with electronic data acquisition, instrumentation and control systems is required. Experience with use of electronic calibration and diagnostic tools (volt meter, calibration standards) and use of hand tools on engines and related components desired. Engine emissions test experience is a plus.
