Project Archaeologist

URS LOPEZGARCIA GROUP is seeking a Project Archaeologist to support operations in our Dallas office.Primary Responsibilities:Direction and participation in archaeological survey, testing and data recovery projects, as well as associated laboratory analysisIndependent completion of letter reports and short reports, may work with others to efficiently produce longer reportsAssisting the Principal Investigator and Department Manager in budgeting, preparation of technical and cost proposals and other administrative dutiesTaking on a full range of tasks related to cultural resources management and other environmental projectsMinimum Qualifications:Applicants must have a graduate degree in anthropology, archaeology or a related disciplineExperience in the Southern Plains, Texas or the Southwest is preferred Good communication and the ability to work in a team environment Experience or familiarity with the Section 106 process and state/federal historic preservation laws is beneficialApplicants must be comfortable working with MS Word, MS Excel, and other standard business software, and must be able to quickly learn new software as necessaryApplicants must be willing to travelApplicants may be required to submit writing samples from completed documents (preferably samples of cultural resource management documentation and/or academic publications demonstrating strong writing skills and the ability to conduct research)  Skills, areas of experience and professional associations are beneficial, specifically experience with TxDOT, NEPA documentation, landscape archaeology and historic archaeology fieldwork and artifact analysis.
