Energy Technology Company is accepting online applications for the position of Production Engineer, located in Houston, Texas.Overview:Come join Chevron’s International Heavy Oil Center located in Bakersfield, California and Houston, Texas. These teams provide resources, tools, and multifunctional expertise to develop, identify and deliver cost-effective technologies and technical services in support of Chevron’s heavy oil and unconventional reservoirs operations around the world. Team members occasionally travel to locations including Indonesia, Venezuela, Kuwait, Europe and Canada to perform studies and support ongoing operations.Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Support for production and injection well logging.• Interface with vendors, equipment specification, engineering, technical evaluation, cost estimating and establishment of best practices. • Provide on-site support for the running of equipment and training of employees.• Identify, assess and execute Technology Development and Strategic Research programs to develop heavy oil production, completion and drilling technologies. • Oversee technology transfer to and between business units, participation in industry JIP’s/forums/committees/networks to accelerate technology sharing, transfer and development to impact the Company’s operations. Required (Basic) Qualifications:• A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering.• A minimum of 10 years engineering experience in the upstream oil and gas industry, with 5 years experience in heavy oil operations. • Experience in artificial lift, workovers, completions and heavy oil operations.• Specialized knowledge of well completion techniques, well performance monitoring and modeling - heat loss analysis, sand control, artificial lift and production, injection and observation well logging techniques. • Ability to build strong and positive relationships with customers. • Demonstrates ability to network with customers effectively. Understands their business needs.• Ability to train and develop skills of the work force and technology deployment.• Knowledge and experience with casing design/cementing technology.• Experience in research and development programs.Preferred Qualifications:• A Master’s Degree• Experience with international, completions, and technology development.• Experience with heavy oil and thermal completions.Relocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.International Considerations:Expatriate assignments will be considered.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:Houston, TX 77002 Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
