Process Engineer - Emission Control
Our client , one of the largest producer of Limestone in North America with operations across Canada, USA and Mexico currently has an opening for Process Engineer for their Salt Lake City, Utah, USA location.
The ideal candidate will be working closely with the Environmental group to identify the area of development that will help a company adapt to the current and future environmental regulations.
Duties:
- Collaborate with the Environmental group, lead the development and knowledge on
emission monitoring equipment and pollution control technologies;
- Assist the Environmental group in developing control technology comparisons (e.g. BAT, BACT, MACT) required as part of any permit applications;
- Assist the Environmental group in preparing technical response(s) to regulatory or government inquiries;
- Identify, develop, continuously improve and communicate the best available process practices developed within the company or in the industry;
- Develop and prove the organization's knowledge and experience on emission monitoring equipment and pollution control technologies;
- Coordinate of pilot testing or in plant demonstration test to learn about new emission control technologies and new emission monitoring technologies, and their potential;
- Built effective relationships with plant process specialists and other functions to increase the synergy between plants and with the process engineering group;
- Assist on process issues including the identification and application of continuous improvement opportunities on efficiency, quality, emission control, etc;
- Participate in the development of project concepts, flow sheets, equipment specifications and layouts that incorporate the Company and industry best practices and actively assume roles and responsibilities as “Process lead” on assigned projects;
- Prepare and maintain operating manuals and deliver training mainly around emission control technologies;
- Support the Manufacturing group in process related issues and development projects.
Requirements:
- B.S. Engineering/Science or higher degree in Industrial Process or related technical degree.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in industrial combustion.
- Experience in pyro processes and an industrial process control application is a plus
- Ability to lead and promote good working relationships between departments both internal and external
- Able to meet deadlines and to ensure resolution of plant problems
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, French language is an asset
- Strong team working and individual-based team work environment
- Safety conscious
- Must be self-starter, able to prioritize and multi tasks
- Proficient of Mircrosoft Office Suit (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access), other software experience a plus
