In this position you will lead business development initiatives, provide engineering solutions, develop market initiatives, offer technical guidance, and mentor young engineers and scientists.

 

Job Description

· Will manage multi-task, multi-disciplinary environmental/engineering projects involving both existing and innovative technologies.  Projects include cleanup/removal of hazardous wastes, contaminated soils and groundwater as well as design and upgrade of industrial environmental pollution control technology including industrial waste water treatment, air pollution design and regulatory compliance.

· Will direct environmental compliance, risk management and related projects.

· Will oversee and mentor in-house staff (engineers, scientists and construction management personnel) and subcontractors in project execution.

· Provide diversification, development, and growth of environmental/engineering services through new business opportunities and expansion of business with existing clients using the -seller-doer model.

· Manage technical, budgetary and schedule performance to achieve client satisfaction and repeat business.

· Provide engineering/technical expertise to fellow project managers and other MACTEC offices.

· Manage proposal preparation including innovative technical approaches and competitive pricing.  Will prepare and perform client presentations.

· Report to Office Management and work effectively with minimal supervision.

 

Job Requirements

· BS/MS Civil/Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related degree.

· PE registration desired.

· Ideal candidate will be well rounded and have knowledge of both environmental remediation and pollution control technology.

· Industrial/commercial project management and marketing experience in site investigation, regulatory compliance, technology application, site remediation and closure (RCRA/CERCLA).

· Knowledge and experience in industrial environmental pollution control technology including industrial waste water treatment, air pollution design and regulatory compliance.

· Demonstrated ability and interest in business development/expansion.

· Knowledge of Illinois environmental regulations.

· Strong financial skills including budgeting, cost management, invoicing and cash management.

· Scheduling/schedule management experience.

· Demonstrated successful experience in project management ($200K-1,000K range) for private sector industrial/commercial clients, including: development of technical approach, budget and schedule; monitoring project performance; client stewardship; regulatory negotiations; delivery of technically superior work products, on time and within budget.

· Excellent writing and communication skills.

· Willingness to travel to locations in the US.  Approximately 10% travel.

· Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
