Description:

We are seeking junior or senior Research Engineer candidates with successful experiences in at least one of the following disciplines: plastic/composite materials and processing, component/system design, production automation, and CAD/FEA.   To qualify for these challenging positions: the candidate must possess a BS degree with more than 5 years hand-on experiences or PhD with at least two year’s experiences in research and development in the related fields.

 

Responsibilities (include, but not limited to):

Ensure that projects are completed successfully and meet the project deadlines and milestones. Utilize strong material science skills to develop advanced composite materials, produce prototype parts, execute performance testing on materials and prototypes and optimize manufacturing processes. Conduct experiments and collect data, and record all the data and discoveries in the laboratory notebook.  Ensure the operations and functions of the laboratory equipment. Analyze the experimental data and results to optimize the performance and cost goals.  Analyze experimental results and communicate it through written reports and oral presentations. Provide weekly and monthly technical reports.  Deliver high quality project final reports.  Present project progresses to internal management or outside customers in weekly/monthly briefing or update meetings. 

 

Requirements A track-record that demonstrates success of working in the technology field.  Solid scientific background and proven high levels of performance in related fields.  For Polymer/Composite Engineer candidate: Experiences in projects across the interfaces of advanced polymer materials, novel polymer modification chemistry, nanotechnology, and innovative plastic manufacturing processing. For senior mechanical Engineer candidate: Experience with designing industrial machine system or automation machinery is preferred. Demonstrated ability to listen to customers' needs, develop solutions to meet their requirements, trust and respect. Must be capable of handling multiple projects/tasks at the same time, and must have hand-on experience and execute project independently without the need of supervision. Experience with technical proposal or report writing is required.  Preferably has business development or marketing experience in the federal market. Must be comfortable in a fast-paced environment with challenging deadlines, multiple projects and assignments. Strong work ethic and team player and can handle pressure.  Excellent oral and written communication skills are necessary. The candidates must have creative thinking, good analytical skills and can demonstrate having experiences to execute assignment independently. Preference will be given to local candidates already in North New Jersey and to

      candidates who are able to relocate to New Jersey.
