POSITION SUMMARY: Prepare clear, complete, and accurate maps and drawings illustrating plant requirements as well as designing and implementing new RF cable and fiber optic plant.


MAJOR DUTIES: (May perform any or all of the following duties.)

• Draw maps of street layouts and drawings of apartment complexes and mobile home parks from information supplied by Engineering.
• Design and assist with node splits between Region and System. Review node splits to validate fiber deep node splits.
• Generate MDU RF system design.
• Make corrections on design maps received from outside contractors, and release to field personnel.
• Update, revise, and maintain plant maps and drawings to as-built specifications supplied by construction information.
• Prepare charts, graphs, and illustrations for presentation of equipment of cable routing.
• Assist in developing bill of materials.
• Analyze and review strand maps to determine information needed in developing new or rebuilt cable systems.
• Establish cable routing design for new or rebuilt cable systems.
• Make revisions to strand maps.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Some travel may be required.
• Proficient with FocusOne or AutoCad/Lode Data, MS Excel, Word, Visio and Streets and Trips.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: HS Diploma plus drafting / engineering course or the equivalent of a 2-year degree in Engineering / Electronics or the recognized equivalent in work experience or self-study.

EXPERIENCE: 4-7 years experience.
