Piping Engineer
Currently we have a position open for a Piping Engineer. The right person will enjoy a rapidly growing organization and will be comfortable without excessive supervision and will like the opportunities and flexibility that are available when every standard and procedure is not completely in place. The person will thrive on technically complex and diverse work and have a business mind which understands the economics that drive each project and will want to help the group contribute excellent finished designs and profits to the company. General duties and responsibilities:· Performs a variety of engineering work in the initial planning and design phases of projects. · Provide technical support to projects in all phases of work from investigation through construction and commissioning. · Independently evaluate, select, use and maintain compliance to standards, techniques, procedures and criteria for technical projects. · Perform detailed technical analysis of complex project issues and break complex technical tasks into manageable subtasks for execution by junior personnel. Establish scope, schedules and cost controls consistent with your discipline and compatible with client objectives. Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable regulatory requirements. Qualifications:· Minimum of 5 years experience.· 10 years of piping stress analysis, 5 of which must be management and checking of other stress analyst s work· 10 years experience in an EP&C oriented environment· 5 years experience in critical power plant piping system evaluation, analysis and modifications· 10 years experience developing pipe support details, 5 of which must be management and checking of other designers and engineers work· 10 years working knowledge of ASME Piping and Boiler & Pressure Vessel Codes· 5 years working knowledge of piping material and construction specificationsPreferred Qualifications: The person will thrive on technically complex and diverse work and have a business mind which understands the economics that drive each project and will want to help the group contribute excellent finished designs and profits to the company. The individual does not want to be pigeonholed and wants to broaden their base of experience Expertise in power plant design, power plant operations, maintenance, and field construction for new and existing facilities." Development and review of critical and balance of plant piping systems to include: analysis, design, material selection, layout, construction specifications, equipment & material specifications and purchasing. " Superior proficiency at software based and manual calculations to validate proposed pipe and critical pipe systems. " Assist in proposal efforts through evaluating; man-hour estimates, material requisitions, scheduling and deliverables " Generate drawings and or sketches for pipe and pipe support systems"Material specification / selection, pipe sizing, wall thickness, valve sizing to ASME codes "Experience in EPC environments"Experience with CEASAR helpful Company: System One Location: Pittsburg, PA Status: Full Time, Employee Job Category: Engineering Relevant Work Experience: 7+ to 10 Years Career Level: Experienced (Non-Manager) Company: System One Reference Code:: JO158340
