Phlebotomist
PHLEBOTOMIST, MIT Medical, to collect blood specimens by venipuncture and capillary from patients of all age groups. Will be responsible for point-of-care testing on patients; performing accessioning duties by correctly identifying patients data, entering test requests, and labeling all specimens according to lab protocols; and processing laboratory specimens.
REQUIREMENTS: a high school diploma or equivalent, successful completion of a recognized program for training in phlebotomy or experience in a clinical setting, and general medical terminology and laboratory knowledge. Seek reliable individual who is able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must demonstrate professionalism when dealing with patients, physicians, and coworkers. Basic computer skills required, as is ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and transport supplies and specimens. MIT-00005785-3 Will work rotating shifts 8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. or 9:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M., Monday through Friday, with no weekend or holiday work. 8/22/08
