Personally designs, engineers, and modifies RF Coax cable assemblies based on information or input provided by the customer, sales channel, or other relevant personnel. Converts input into a form that can be presented to the customer and used by the manufacturing site. Resolves customer problems, and if necessary, may contact the customer to discuss a correction or an alternate approach to avoid future problems. Maintains existing products and specifications including modifications for new applications, staying consistent with known manufacturing techniques and economies. Responsibilities: - Engage in product design and development. - Support the quote process for customer accounts. - Determine how technological advances can create a competitive edge for cable assembly products to create profitable sales. - Develop an engineering relationship at our key customer accounts. - Suggest and implement cost savings ideas. - Control engineering documentation such as prints, EC's, sample requests, deviations, etc. for assigned products. - Coordinate and assist internal personal to implement start-up production. -Release new part numbers and approve first article assemblies. - Coordinate quality complaints and customer response with quality assurance. - Become proficient in the use of various internal software systems to facilitate the duties listed above.
