PCB Designer

Dear Prospective PCB Designer,We are looking for someone who can work under general supervision, work with engineers in a fast paced development environment, is able to analyze and solve technical problems, has strong interpersonal skills and is self-motivated. They must complete all tasks in a timely manner; communicate effectively on a technical level. They must be to work well under pressure, quickly adapt to changing conditions and make decisions based on incomplete data.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.   Responsible for Multi-layer Job Description layout of high speed analog and digital circuitry.  Takes schematic, outline, constraints and parts information and lays out complex multi-layer PCB. Creates output files that can be used to successfully fabricate PCB Uses Altium (schematic and PCB) and SolidWorks (mechanical modeling) to find and resolve interference fit (3D) issues. Works with HW engineer, ME, and document control to insure timely and accurate PCB development and release. Other duties as required. QUALIFICATIONS:  To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. (or Protel or PCAD) Able to learn SolidWorks for 3D fit. Must have an understanding of hi-speed signal requirements in PCB layout. Experience working with mixed signal (analog and digital) designs. Must have an understanding of impedance control, shielding, and current limitations as related to PCB development. Able to work with minimal supervision. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Â§ BS – Electrical Engineering preferred§ Typically requires a minimum of 5+ years of related experience. Who are we?We are a 140+person product manufacturing company that is entering our 24th year in business.
