Office Principal
Qualifications required include BS or MS in Civil Engineering. Candidate should be licensed as a Professional Engineer in North Carolina or have the ability to obtain a North Carolina license within six months. Candidate must have at least ten years of professional experience with at least five years experience managing transportation projects. Project experience is preferred to be in roadway or structure design for state DOTs.
Candidate must be able to develop and apply structure to loosely defined client requirements and translate them into detailed scopes of work, schedules and budgets. Candidate must have experience in staffing requirements and time to complete tasks to ensure financial success of the project. Candidate must have experience negotiating scope, schedule and budget with clients which concludes in acceptable and achievable business terms for the firm and a positive client relationship. Candidate must have the ability to develop business for the office through developing and maintaining client relationships, identifying opportunities, preparing outstanding proposals and giving successful client presentations. Candidate must have supervisory experience, managing project managers and underlying staff members. Candidate must have the ability to prepare an annual office budget, projecting workload and staffing requirements, capital expenditures and office operating expenses. Candidate must have knowledge of accounting and project management systems; Oracle experience is preferred.
Candidate should have excellent leadership skills, including high ethical standards, integrity, and honesty; strong interpersonal skills with the ability to foster an excellent team environment; the ability to set high standards and then motivate the team to exceed them; and strong verbal and written communication skills.
