General requirements : GENERAL INFORMATION:
My client is a world leader in energy engineering, encourages innovation and ingenuity, and provides an environment that values teamwork, integrity, and diversity. This position will be assigned to Afghanistan for 12 months, then return to the USA. A second contract may be available. Salary DOE with significant consideration for the location.
I am looking for a Senior to Mid-level Electrical Engineer (5-15 years’ experience) to work on International assignments and to support our energy related projects under contract with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).
Technical requirements : REQUIREMENTS:
The ideal candidates will:
• Have knowledge of multiple power networks from generation to distribution and regulation.
• Have experience and knowledge in concepts, principles, and practices in developing countries within the field of science and engineering.
• Have a broad knowledge of managing projects in the U.S. and overseas.
• Direct experience working on projects in developing countries is highly desirable as well as experience working in conflict and/or post conflict countries.
• The candidate should have the ability to express engineering and scientific judgment in writing and orally.
• The candidate should have 10 years of relevant work experience, with at least 5 years direct experience in engineering or in the field of specialty.
• Previous assignments and strong working knowledge of contingency based power systems, prime power plants and power distribution networks highly desired.
• Excellent English language communication, leadership and inter-personal skills are a must.
• Active Secret Security Clearance Desired.
• A Professional Engineering (P.E.) certificate or equivalent is desired.
Candidates should have some experinence with : EDUCATION:
• Candidate must have a minimum B.S. degree or equivalent in electrical engineering or related energy engineering field from an accredited college or university.
Initially, this will be an overseas assignment with an expected duration of 12 months with a possible 2nd contract being available upon completion. It should be understood that employment may be located in potentially dangerous areas, including combat or war zones.
