Mid-Level Engineer
Tetra Tech’s Surface Water Group (SWG) is looking for an enthusiastic and knowledgeable mid-level engineer to work in our Irvine, California office. As a member of this dynamic group, you will work on cutting edge river, stream, and lake restoration projects with some of the acknowledged leaders in the field. Our projects include fish passage design, dam removal, floodplain and wetland restoration, and water quality enhancement, and are located throughout the Pacific Northwest, California, Arizona, and New Mexico. This is a career-level position with ample room for advancement and career growth. You would perform as a mid-level engineer on projects relating to water resources, including environmental restoration, flood and debris control, and dam safety alternatives. Tasks include providing CADD and GIS support to senior engineers for design projects, research and field investigations, engineering calculations, and preliminary write-up of project reports. Job Requirements: Graduated with a BS or MS from an accredited engineering program in civil or environmental engineering. Candidate should have 3-5 years experience in water resources design. Experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation is required and GIS knowledge is desired. Excellent writing and communication skills are a plus. Must be computer literate and have knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Position will involve hydraulic and hydrologic studies, water budgets, geomorphological assessments, and preparation of bid sets, including cost estimates, specifications, and design plans for stream and wetland restoration projects. Southwest experience and previous hydrologic and hydraulic modeling experience is preferred.
