Mechanical Piping Designer - Applications Engineering

Aquatech International Corporation (www.aquatech.com)  is a leading international manufacturer of industrial water & wastewater treatment systems. We have growing business opportunities and are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Piping Designer - Applications Engineering.

 Summary of Job Duties:Develop Equipment Layouts, General Arrangement drawings based on proposal P&IDs. Maintain the piping patterns library including skid layouts. Keep updating this library as per latest plants & systems performed by Aquatech. Study and archive for easy access and retrieval historical designs. Develop piping layouts. Use archived design history and carry out optimization of the designs. Prepare bill of materials based on the proposal P&IDs, Equipment Layouts and General Arrangements. Provide inputs to Applications Engineering in a timely manner. Duties include detailed design and drafting based upon process data for piping, skid, and support design for industrial/water/wastewater industry. Provide AutoCAD assistance for various departments. Produce 3D CAD, General Arrangement and Piping Plans and Sections. Update and maintain piping, structural specifications provided in the proposal to our customers. Comment on the customer’s piping and related mechanical specifications for key proposals. Essential Functions:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed above and below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions Physical Job DemandsLifting/carrying/moving 1-15 lbs. Involves sitting at a desk for extended periods of time. Needs high degree of concentration in a busy area. Working ConditionsMonday through Friday; Overnight travel and working more than 40 hours/week may be required. SafetyTakes appropriate measures to ensure safety in work place; attends monthly safety meeting as required; notifies manager immediately (within 24 hours) of work place injury and ensures appropriate policies and procedures are followed; reports potential safety hazards immediately to manager. Skill Requirements:Fluency in AutoCAD and ability to use at a high level of proficiency. Experience in developing 3D models of process/water treatment plant piping shall be a major plus. Knowledge and experience in 3D design. The candidate will be able to communicate effectively internally and with customers and maintain positive attitude and good organizational skills, plan and manage multiple tasks or projects, and apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written oral or diagram form. Ability to pay close attention to detail. Ability to use personal computer (MS Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet (SAP and Access desired) to input data and process information at a high level of proficiency. Experience in working with 3D models of process/water treatment plant piping shall be a major plus. Minimum Qualifications:Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering and/or Piping/Design. Minimum of 5 years work experience related to piping designs, equipment layouts, and general arrangement. Experience must be in a company or a department of a company specializing in water and/or wastewater treatment equipment or OEM specializing in water and/or wastewater treatment equipment. Ability to use AutoCAD at a high level of proficiency; 3D modeling is required. Experience with mechanical and piping designs and P&ID preparation.
