Mechanical Engineer - CMD

Foth Production Solutions LLC, a nationally recognized, employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer – Custom Machine Designer for our Minneapolis/St. Paul location. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

¨  Provide high level machine design and concepts for all market segments.

¨  Identify customer needs/requirements for custom designed machinery.

¨  Lead internal concept development process with Production Solution resources and others as required.

¨  Prepare proposals for engineering and manufacturing efforts for custom designed and built equipment.

¨  Lead design teams and provide coaching/mentoring as required.

¨  Travel as needed for data gathering, design reviews, installs, start-ups and troubleshooting.

¨  Travel to client sites and/or other Foth office locations (up to 25%) 

 

Required Qualifications:

¨  Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.

¨  10-15+ years experience with custom designed machinery.

¨  Strong client interface experience.

¨  Proven examples of leading custom machinery development process, to include, concepting, modeling, proof of principle, proto-typing, manufacturing, testing and commissioning.

¨  Formal leadership training.

¨  Web handling experience. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

¨  MSME 

¨  Consultant experience

¨  Proficient in design using Acad, Inventor or other design software package.

¨  Experience in food, beverage, bulk mail handling, specialty package or other industry experience similar to Production Solutions’ current client base.

¨  Experience in hands-on modeling techniques, used to prove concepts. ie: woodworking.
