Mechanical Drafter Department: EngineeringRequisition number: 08-276Location: Davis, CaliforniaReports to: Drafting SupervisorTravel Required: None The mechanical drafter’s key responsibilities are to create and modify detailed Schilling Robotics drawings using Solidworks and AutoCAD. Input will range from approved ECO’s and drafting requests to sketches, layouts or notes provided by engineering. This position controls the product and design documentation that facilitates the correct manufacture and quality of our products. The mechanical drafter works with engineering to ensure document accuracy, design intent, and drafting standards. Produces drawings in Solidworks or AutoCAD from approved drafting requests. Drawing types include detailed piece part drawings, assembly drawings, cable and harness assembly drawings, and technical illustrations.  Incorporates approved engineering change orders (ECOs) into existing documents. Provides project support with creation of models, bills of materials (BOMs), part specification requisitions, drafting requests, and ECOs. Provides support of the company’s MRP system (Visibility) as needed for the drawings and document release process. Performs other drafting support tasks as requested. Requirements:Minimum of two (2) or more years of professional working experience in the field of mechanical drafting.Solid understanding of ASME standards.Highly proficient with Solidworks and AutoCAD.Intermediate proficiency with MS Office 2007 Word and Excel programs.AA degree with an emphasis in mechanical drafting.Solid understanding of ECO process.MRP and PDM experience.
