Mechanical Designer (Pro/E)

Design of assigned product design tasks, working with product designer when necessary.  May include special mounts, adaptations of existing product, cost reduction of existing product, safety, and quality or manufacturability improvement.  May include follow up with assembly of first production units.  Documentation may include drawings, purchased component specification, assembly procedures, test specifications, and operations and maintenance manuals
- Maintenance of bills of materials for existing product, and creation of BOM’s for new product.
- Maintenance of product structure manual.
- Enter new product part numbers in manual as they are created, and assist with the overall maintenance of correctness of the manual.
- Maintenance of operator’s manual.
- Provide assistance as requested to keep manual up to date and accurate.
- Provide assistance for sales department.
- Assist with questions of suitability and fit of various cassette/press/auxiliary equipment combinations.
- Provide drawings and other documentation as requested by sales or customers.
- Assist in creation and maintenance of company and departmental policies and procedures as necessary.
- Assist in other engineering projects as assigned.
- May be assigned other tasks such as assisting in installation kit design and documentation; new product design, development and documentation; product test development and data collection; and other general engineering and R&D tasks.
- Assist in training of production, field service and sales staff if necessary.


2-year degree in mechanical engineering technology (or equivalent experience) with practical experience in manufacturing or hands on experience.
3-years PC based CAD system experience, or ability to generate drawings and execute changes quickly and accurately, using correct technical drawings standards.  Ability to understand and evaluate mechanical design concepts.
