Manufacturing/Production/Operations Career Level: Manager (Manager/Supervisor of Staff) Location: Dayton Status: Full Time, Employee Relevant Work Experience: 2+ to 5 Years Job Description Manufacturing Supervisor POSITION DESCRIPTION: Manufacturing Supervisor. Leads forty (40) to sixty (60) employees engaged in the fabrication and assembly of precision mechanical and electrical components. Oversees the accomplishment of assigned work through subordinate team leaders. Responsible for the maintenance of production schedules, product quality, and total cost improvement. Assists in the selection and training of new employees and administers company rules and policies, conducts performance and salary reviews for team members. Responsible for the effective use of all resources towards the company goals. Lead cross training efforts. Key member of the lean manufacturing team. QUALIFICATIONS: Educational Requirements: Bachelors Degree Graduate in Engineering EXPERIENCE (ESSENTIAL) Supervision, lean manufacturing EXPERIENCE (DESIRABLE) Work in a highly technical environment PRIORITIZED SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Prior supervisory experience in a low to medium volume, precision manufacturing, highly technical environment Highly developed supervisory skills: planning, organizing, leading, executing plans, controlling costs, balancing resources, buffer management, etc. Knowledge and prior application and utilization of lean manufacturing processes and concepts P.C. skills: prior experience and knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, such as Excel and Word. Familiarity with Chartrunner and process flow charting is desirable Product and process quality driven, team oriented, people focused leader High level of written and verbal skills Analytical problem solving skills Skilled at using the theory of constraints (TOC) Self starter, results oriented, process driven, hands on leader of change
