Our client, a premier employer, located in a beautiful rural area, north of Pittsburgh, PA is selectively looking for an Manufacturing Engineering Manager with proven success,for this high impact position as a technical resource for their manufacturing and supply chain processes. Responsibilities would include the design and implementation of the manufacturing systems and equipment that is used to produce products. They will specify equipment needed to manufacture new products, modifies equipment and processes to make new product variants and develop new manufacturing processes. They will also ensure that the manufacturing portion of the new product launch projects are completed within defined time lines. Other responsibilities would include: New Processes and Manufacturing Techniques Implementing new processes to realize cost savings, improve quality and improve delivery performance. Apply statistical methods to improve process stability and to validate process improvements. You will use Lean Manufacturing techniques to minimize work in process, reduce floor space and eliminate waste. You will also manage projects that are associated with new product launches and cost saving initiatives. You will also provide assistance to the Purchasing area regarding tolerances and specifications for components to manufactured by suppliers. Implementation of New Products Assist in the development of new products using a design for manufacturing approach. You will also play a key role in expanding manufacturing to other global locations as desired by the corporation and interface with local internal and external resources. Management You will have the responsibility of training and operators and maintenance personnel to ensure that a consistent high level of performance for equipment and processes. Apply statistical methods and perform product analysis for cost reduction, quality improvement and improved efficiency Provide hands-on training of operators and maintenance personnel to ensure consistent high level of performance of equipment and processes is maintained Organize and lead activities and projects associated with cost saving initiatives, including project tracking and documentation Identify equipment that enhances company's Lean Manufacturing approach Benchmark other operations globally both within the company and outside the company to implement best practices This opportunity offers a very competitive salary and benefit package, and is looking for local candidates at this time. Requirements: The successful candidate will have the following Education and Experience: Bachelor of Science Engineering Degree - Required 5+ Years Manufacturing Engineer experience in manufacturing environments 3+ Years Management experience with hands on skill set and lead by example nature Ability to understand product specifications and determine appropriate manufacturing processes with knowledge of measurement techniques Strong analytical and problem solving skills Solid understanding of Lean Manufacturing concepts and methodologies, including 5S, Kaizen, SMED, process mapping.
