Position Description:Chevron Corporation is one of the world’s leading energy companies. Chevron Project Resources Company is currently searching for domestic and globally mobile Business Managers to be a critical member of the project team reporting to the Project Manager. Chevron has a number of international and domestic onshore and offshore (Upstream and Downstream) major capital project opportunities. The capital cost of the projects ranges from $200MM to over $5.0 billion. Many of the project teams are located at our offices in downtown Houston, but some are co-located in contractor’s offices throughout the greater Houston area or at other domestic and international sites. The positions will involve both domestic and international travel, including travel during weekends, and will likely involve relocation to domestic or international fabrication and installation sites. Typical work locations may include Gulf Coast of the USA (Houston TX, Pascagoula MS), El Segundo CA, Richmond CA, Salt Lake City UT, China, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia, Vietnam, London, West Africa (Nigeria, Angola), Kazakhstan, Middle East, Korea and Japan as well as possible other locations. Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities:•Supervises the project business staff (scheduling, cost control, contracting, procurement, finance & accounting, information management). •Continuously monitors business performance and gives advice on status and corrective action if necessary. •Interacts frequently with Business Unit management on project performance and keeps abreast of changes in Business Unit objectives and market conditions. •Designs and implements control systems for project. Develops reporting methods and generates reports on regular basis. •Establishes guidelines and oversight for contracting and purchasing, including assembling, bidding, awarding and administering contracts. •Assures that company risk and assets are properly managed. •Develops credible and accurate project economics. Required Qualifications•Bachelors Degree required •Minimum of 10 years direct experience in capital project business management on large oil and gas capital projects. •Experience in a Lead project role for an oil and gas company or major Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firm. •The position requires both domestic and international travel including travel during weekends and may involve relocation to international locations as project requirements change. •Ability to establish, develop and implement project procedures, project execution plans, contract strategy and contract plans, material management plans and control systems for large domestic U.S. and international capital projects (project value in excess of $100MM).•Knowledge of the following project business and project services/control activities: Project Cost/Schedule Controls: Cost Manager, Primavera or similar systems, Work Breakdown structures (WBS).•Strong leadership and interpersonal skills. •Supervisory experience.•Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. •Excellent verbal and written communications skills required. •Must be able to coordinate input from multiple organizations. •Must be flexible, goal oriented, have strong interpersonal skills, a professional demeanor and the ability to work independently.•This is a safety sensitive position.Relocation Options:•Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:Houston, TX 77002 Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Project/Program Management
