MECHANICAL ENGINEER

FBDâ„¢, Frozen Beverage Dispensers, a rapidly growing manufacturing company located in NE San Antonio seeks a Mechanical Engineer to provide product design/development and engineering support to specific product projects through design and technical support in accordance with customer requirements.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Initiates and implements new products, product design changes and/or improvements.Develops prototype parts.Performs/coordinates product testing.Investigates and resolves field problems related to specific products.Evaluates and initiates production deviations, engineering drawings, Engineering Change Notices (ECN), and Bills of Materials.Communicates with customers and vendors on requirements and materials needed for project completion.Provides technical support for product line to customers, vendors, sales, and manufacturing departments.Coordinates and manages implementation of equipment for specific customer accounts.May supervise activities of Drafters/Designers.Facilitates project reviews and meetings.Other duties as needed and assigned.

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering required. Previous experience (1+ years) preferred.  Technical curriculum or knowledge of thermodynamics, materials science, and/or electro-mechanics is required.  Experience in several of the following areas: precision mechanics, robotics, electromechanical systems, broad knowledge of automation, pneumatics, and design with sheet metal and plastics. Must be proficient in the use of parametric solid modeling software.Must be proficient in the use of industry best practices for engineering design (FMEA, DFMA, etc). Knowledge of quality processes, costs of defects, and how quality relates to the design and manufacturing of the product.  Knowledge of the beverage dispensing industry preferred. Must be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office and Outlook software. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a fast paced environment.
