MECHANICAL DEPARTMENT MANAGER - HAMMOND, INDIANA DISTRICT OFFICE
Orbital Engineering,® Inc., a nationally recognized multi-discipline engineering firm is seeking a motivated Sr. Mechanical Engineer to manage the Mechanical/Piping Department at our Hammond, Indiana District Office.
Job Description: Overall responsibility for the design, detailing, specification, review and final approval of mechanical equipment or systems, and for design of new and existing facilities. Must possess a strong working knowledge and experience in process and utility piping systems engineering, design and detailing.
Projects: heavy industrial/consulting environment.
Focus: petroleum chemical, manufacturing, and/or steel industry.
The position requires that the Mechanical Department Manager manage numerous projects simultaneously for a variety of customers in the greater Chicago, Illinois and Hammond, Indiana areas. This position calls for an individual with a Mechanical Engineering Degree, a PE or the ability to obtain one and a minimum of 7 years experience working on heavy industrial projects in a consulting environment. The individual must have good leadership, communication and interpersonal skills with clients and staff personnel.
Candidates must have a flexible schedule and quick response time in order to compensate for the customer’s changing needs. Also, candidate must be able to manage others and work independently.
