Job Title: Parts Logistic Manager
Department: Machine Support
Job Purpose: The Parts Logistic Manager manages all aspects of the Parts Department, with special focus on managing inventory levels, forecasting part usage, tracking consumption by market, optimize inventory levels in the field, develop and implement processes for internal and external use, and performing related duties as required.
As a leader the Parts Logistic Manager is critical in providing all internal customers with superior service. A key to success is to continuously increase the efficiency and transparency of our part system.
Key Outcomes (Deliverables):
Parts Logistic and Continual Process Improvement: Research, develop, publish, maintain and improve Redbox’s spare part logistics. Communicate process issues to the organization and contribute ideas for process improvements/innovations. Also provide leadership in the selection of appropriate tools, techniques and methodologies, particularly in their suitability to specific support needs.
Part Delivery Support: Work directly with ancillary Support teams and internal Customers, both over the phone and via electronic communication, to make sure all part needs are met. Tracking and updating ongoing inventory levels. Managing issues and expectations through our incident resolution process.
Liaison with Key Stakeholder Groups: Establish open and collaborative dialogue with Operations Management, Vendors, Field personnel, Level 1 Support, Level 2, and Engineering to keep abreast on company initiatives, feature releases and service projects to best manage impacts on part logistics and demand.
Quality Assurance and Infrastructure Support: Work with Redbox Engineering to provide feedback on key system requirements as they relate to the implementation of new parts and subsystems. During downtime, assist Level 2 and Engineering as required.
Knowledge Base: Develop and maintain subject matter expertise in the software/hardware architecture of the Redbox system and as it relates to the parts logistic. Contribute to the Redbox Knowledge Base, both in content and maintenance.
Team Growth & Leadership: Foster, grow and mentor internal support resources in the development and improvement of their skill levels and abilities to execute successfully on professional services projects. Advise on appropriate organizational structures, provide leadership, motivation and facilitate staff development.
Performance Management & Development Planning: Implement and follow Redbox’s performance assessment, career path planning and development planning processes. Ensure that team members are competent, motivated, and continue to grow and expand in their skills.
Recruitment: Determine hiring needs. Partner with HR in attracting, interviewing and selecting top talent to hiring needs. Advice direct manager and HR in human resources matters concerning the support team.
Budgeting: Works with direct manager in the development of overall business plans and budgets. Provides inputs into monitoring of their group’s budget performance throughout the year.
Travel: Travels to the field on a regular basis to assess part logistic effectiveness and provide feedback on implementation progresses.
Training: Assist in the ongoing development of training procedures for internal and external processes and procedures. Develop processes to continuously improve the flow of information to the Operations Team, and other support teams.
Success Measures: Gain full understanding of the Redbox system, Support system, Hardware, Software, Back Office, and all currently available tools to monitor the system. Scale and size the parts logistic team to meet demands in the field.Develop and implement clear, understandable processes for a cost efficient parts flow.Establish standardized tools and reports to generate clear cost transparencyProvide continuous feedback to improve hardware and software quality, develop efficiency, and standards within the organization.Department operating on plan and on budget, no budgetary surprises that could have been foreseen.Develop a strong, collaborative and honest relationship the support teams, with direct reporting manager and with other members of the company.
Qualification: Qualification for this position is 3-5 years progressive hands-on experience in the areas of logistics, engineering, or warehouse managementWell-organized with the ability to develop processes and guidelinesExperience with many of the following systems and programs are critical: Windows, MS-Office, (SQL knowledge and Great Plains knowledge a plus)Requires BS or BA in Engineering or 5 years of proven business experience, some of which must have been in a leadership capacity.Must be open to working flexible hours in a 24/7 environment and carrying a cell phone.Competency and knowledge in the areas of leading teams, project management, and internet fluency.Highly analytical and articulate individual who can provide high-quality presentations in regards to cost and logistical processes.Must be a hands-on manager, able to multi-task, lead by example, result focused, customer service oriented, and committed to continuous improvement.Must do whatever it takes and willing to step in to cover support gaps.
