LABVIEW TEST ENGINEER

Our advanced company has an immediate opening for a Test Engineer. This candidate will participate in energy technology projects in interfacing test hardware to electrochemical and fuel synthesis experimental devices. This position involves programming, maintenance of test equipment and data acquisition system. Knowledge of hardware interfacing, Labview and PLC programming is required. The employee must specify hardware (e.g. temperature and fluid flow controllers, electrical measurement devices), program to control test hardware and acquire test data. Additional activities may include helping engineers install electrochemical devices in the test platform. The employee will work closely with the Supervisor and peers to advance the technology by using both standard operating procedure and new techniques as necessary. The employee will document all work and observations in a laboratory notebook or by other appropriate means.

Requirements: Two year technical degree, preferably in electrical engineering field along with formal or hands on training in Labview and PLC programming.

Experience: Two years prior work experience is required. Laboratory experience in a research and development environment will be give preference.

General: This position requires an individual that works with minimal supervision. Excellent communication, organizational, documentation, and computer skills are required. This is a hands-on position and technical aptitude to grasp scientific and engineering concepts is required. This position requires an individual that is detail oriented and a self-starter, and requires minimal supervision with ability to work independently. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential function of this job. Compliance to safety guidelines and practices is mandatory. Lifting objects up to 50 pound may be required. The company provides personal protective equipment and its use is mandatory. This equipment may include, but is not limited to; air-purifying respiratory protection, gloves, safety glasses, goggles, approved foot protection, lab and special environmental clothing.
