Junior Sales Application Engineer

World renowned designer and manufacturer of fluid-film bearings seeks to add a Junior Sales Application Engineer to its Sales Department.

 

Successful candidate will be an integral part of a technical sales and marketing team that conducts business globally.  Company’s products are used in the rotating equipment industry in equipment such as turbines (steam, gas, and hydro), compressors, pumps, generators, paper and pulp refiners, and navy ships.

 

Primary duties involve:

 

1)  Managing key accounts to provide sales and applications engineering support

2)  Coordinating requirements of new orders with design and manufacturing teams

3)  Increase profitability and market share with existing customers

4)  Maintain existing relationships with current customers

5)  Build new, long-lasting relationships with  personnel(mostly engineering and purchasing) at existing accounts as well as developing new business

6)  Give presentations on features and benefits of company’s products

7)  Attend industry tradeshows

8)  Managing customer inquiries to determine the product and price offering which yield the best solution

9)  Develop commercial and technical proposals in response to customer inquiries

10) Use company’s propriety software to perform engineering calculations on bearing performance

11) Act as the primary interface between the company and customer

 

  The company is looking for a candidate who possesses the following credentials and traits:Degreed engineer (BSME preferred) with a minimum of 2-4 years work experience in technical sale environment.  Individual seeking to learn and grow with the company in a fast pace environment and have the to manage multiple orders and requestsPrior knowledge of fluid-film bearings is preferred, but not requiredWillingness to travel approximately 25% of time, including internationalUnyielding desire to do things the right wayAbility to manage a project based sales processMature, team player with a positive attitude to support the goals of the companyExcellent verbal and written skillsAbility to seek out new opportunity and self-start projects
