Position location: Houston, Texas - Client prefers to interview local candidates

6 Month Contract to Hire or Long term Contract duration
Summary
· As a member of the ERP Support Team, works to provide end-user application support for Our ERP system, Equipment, and Quality Management applications, plus all ancillary interfaces.
· General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Multi-Currency, Fixed Assets, Job Cost, Equipment Maintenance, Purchasing, Distribution, Inventory, Sales Order Processing, Shop Floor Control, Product Costing & Mfg. Accounting, MRP, Product Data Management, Fleet Management, Quality Management System
· Security associated with the above applications
· Interfaces associated with the above applications
· The user base supported includes U. S., Mexico, and some international personnel using these applications (Enterprise-wide usage, Corporate accounting and support).
The team performs the following:
· Provide support as a member of the “ERP Application Support Team”
· Assist system users of the ERP and associated applications or interfaces by providing problem resolution, instruction, or information to fulfill business needs
· Communicate effectively with users and IT staff to identify and document the specifics of a reported problem or request
· Investigate and research the underlying causes of reported problems
· Facilitate resolution of problems that may require additional expertise and personnel from IT or the business community
· Periodically develop and execute reports or data extracts for ad hoc requests that cannot be fulfilled by users with existing standardized reports or reporting tools. Transition ad hoc reports to standardized reports as needed
· Document the support activities performed from initiation to final disposition of reported problems and requests
· Follow up with users to keep them apprised of the status of their problem reports or requests
· Manage assigned user support requests to meet Service Level Agreements and maintain high level of user satisfaction
· Assist in identifying and documenting common and recurring support problems. Recommend improvements, develop, or facilitate solutions in the form of communications, training, documentation, process changes, software changes, etc.
· Work with IT team and management to improve processes, performance of systems, and overall system user exp.
· Assist in developing materials & providing support training for Help Desk with respect to common problems
· Work with IT deployment teams to support roll-out of production changes for system upgrades, new applications, or enhancements. Assist in the areas of testing, user communications, system documentation, and training
· Ensure that related IT policies and procedures are maintained and followed in areas of responsibility
Primary Duties/Responsibilities:
· Works as a team member on user support requests to provide day to day application support for the ERP applications suite, including interfaces, while meeting Service Level Agreements and maintaining a high level of user satisfaction
· Develops documentation and provides training to 1st level Help Desk Support staff for resolutions they can provide to common ERP Support issues
· Investigate the underlying causes of reported problems, and facilitate resolution of problems that may require additional expertise and personnel from IT or the business community
· As a team member, ensures that applications related IT policies and procedures are maintained and followed
Skills and Abilities Required:
· Broad knowledge of J. D. Edwards World or OneWorld applications deployed in large corporate environment.
· Experience preferred with respect to Business Functionality, System Configuration Components, System Reporting Tools, Database codes and structures:
· Familiarity desirable with the following applications -General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, Job Cost, Equipment Maintenance, Purchasing, Distribution, Inventory, Sales Order Processing, Shop Floor Control, Engineering, and Product Data Management, Fleet Management
· Strong analytical skills
· Strong communications skills – oral & written
· Strong customer service orientation
· Strong organizational skills
· Ability to prepare training materials, specifications
· Proficiency with Structured Query Language and/or robust reporting tools utilizing complex data queries
· Experience supervising or overseeing work products of staff or team
