Intern - Software Development
Must be a Junior or Senior working toward degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or Software Engineering with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Minimum of six months experience with ASP.Net, C, JAVA, and/or VB.net. Knowledge of software lifecycle development, database structure and design concepts. Software knowledge should include: Microsoft Access, ASP, .NET, Java, Oracle and SQL Server. The successful candidate will be local and able to work between 16 and 24 hours per week. Job Description : The Software Development Intern will work closely with the Database and Web Systems team to support application development, testing, documentation, design, and maintenance. This position will provide the candidate with the opportunity to work with a variety of coding languages and platforms. You will also work with a variety of programmers and data management specialists and will report to the Database and Web Systems Team Leader.The candidate should have strong oral and written communication skills, and excellent problem solving skills. A candidate with experience in the consulting field is desirable and a background in the science, environmental or engineering domain knowledge would be preferred.This position could lead to a full-time Software Engineering position within the Database and Web Systems Team.
