Instrument Installer

N7Incumbent must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent + 6 years experience in a technical installation capacity (specialized education or Vo-Tech training, military, or apprenticeship may be substituted for experience). In addition, the incumbent must be able to demonstrate good technical knowledge of plant and system processes. The incumbent must possess knowledge of functional systems interactions and must be able to pay attention to critical elements in a complex and regulated environment. The incumbent must be able to satisfactorily complete various welder certification tests. Job Description : Performs a combination of duties necessary to fabricate, install, and maintain the instrument control systems of TOCDF. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:Installing instrument control systems and components and/or modifying existing systems when changes to plant configuration are required.Following the plan for the sequence of fabrication and installation of components and equipment to avoid obstructions.Ensuring that the National Electrical Codes, TOCDF specifications, and industry standards are adequately satisfied in the installation, modification or maintenance of instrument control systems or components.Interpreting designs, drawings, and specifications and recommending new, revised or streamlined plans, components or installation methodology.Demonstrating and completing any required inspection and test as necessary to complete work packages and return systems to operational condition.Assisting in the systemization, start-up, and performance test of implemented changes to plant configuration.Performs corrective and preventive maintenance tasks as necessary to support the Maintenance Branch and operational requirements. Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Performing preventative maintenance tasks and calibrations on facility instrumentation. Investigating operational reports of instrument failures and analyzing system characteristics to determine cause of failure and required repairs.Serves as a member of the Emergency Response Team and/or Hazmat Team. : : EOE M/F/D/V
