Infrastructure Engineer in STATEN ISLAND

Full Time, Temporary/Contract/Project Job Category: Engineering Infrastructure Engineer in STATEN ISLAND TEKsystems is looking for a Support Specialist/Infrastructure Engineer to join our client team in STATEN ISLAND due to continued client business growth. Candidate must possess solid knowledge of data networking including; network architecture/design, configuration and implementation of multi-site WAN/LAN infrastructures, router and wireless products. Under minimal supervision will analyze, design, and plan the replacement, purchase, installation and implementation of numerous client data network infrastructures according to best practices and IT standards. Will be responsible for, but not limited to; mentoring junior staff, providing level II/III problem resolutions, designing/planning/configuring data networks including security, developing design/configuration standards, developing toolsets for troubleshooting and evaluating/recommending new technologies/products. This position requires a willingness to perform desktop and helpdesk support in as part of an active IT Team in a very busy environment. Requirements Minimum 5-7 years experience that includes multi-site infrastructure architectures, network design, operational support, hands-on implementing and configuration of diverse network infrastructures and devicesWorking LAN/WAN/WLAN experience with at least 3 or more years experience of multi-site topologiesSolid knowledge of and experience with; layer 3 switching, VLANS (trunking), ACLs, TCP/IP, BGP/OSPF, Cisco products, security appliances, Firewalls, VPN solutions, Wireless, MPLS, QoS solutions, IP administration, DNSKnowledge of Microsoft infrastructures a plus Healthcare industry experience a plus PACS experience a plus Excellent planning and migration skills Solid understanding of routing protocols Excellent verbal communications Excellent writing skills needed for client proposals and documentation Must work well both independently and as a team Strong planning, risk mitigation and problem solving skills are required. Project management skills; proven ability meeting time lines Bachelor or Associate degree in Information Technology or Engineering; Strong non-degree candidates with advanced IT industry experience will be consideredThis position is schedule for fist shift.
