Greenhouse Gas Technical Leader

B.S. in relevant Science or Engineering subject (Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, etc.), or related degree; Masters degree preferred. Minimum ten (10) years experience in energy management, greenhouse gas inventories, planning, and reduction project implementation. Must have at least five (5) years in a leadership position and project management experience. Experience with the status of emerging regulations around CA AB32 a must. Also, detailed experience complying with or developing reporting protocols from the California Climate Action Registry and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development a must. Preferred experience working with the EU ETS, CDM, or JI. This person must demonstrate a proven track record of leading and managing numerous complex greenhouse gas management projects with large project teams, managing staff and budgets, as well as technical deliverables. Requires experience in developing and managing project management duties and client relationships in the greenhouse gas field, energy generation / management, alternative energy sector, or similar industries. The candidate must have a good understanding of project management and technical products. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to prioritize and complete a variety of simultaneous tasks with a hard-charging team. The candidate has to be able to professionally represent the company and to proactively work with clients to drive greenhouse gas projects. Job Description : URS is seeking a greenhouse gas technical leader to lead our technical staff as part of a growing global practice. You will provide the technical background and oversight for our local greenhouse gas practice, as well as leadership at a regional, national and even global scale within the company (commensurate with degree of experience). This is a technical leadership position, requiring solid technical, project and task management, and client relations skills. Must be committed to providing value-added service to our clients. The candidate will lead project teams to provide data gathering, planning, modeling, data management, and strategy services on greenhouse gas projects. Candidate will manage greenhouse gas inventory and management projects, including technical, economic, environmental, and regulatory issues. Candidate will write reports and work on multidisciplinary teams in which greenhouse gases are an issue. Candidate will interface with clients, contractors, URS senior managers and URS' greenhouse gas centers of excellence. Responsibilities include: Analyze internal skills and service offering, Support business development efforts and make recommendations for growth opportunities, Contribute to sales by demonstrating merits of the financial, technical and/or environmental properties of greenhouse gas management, Coordinate with other URS offices performing greenhouse gas services, Work with and manage contractors, Conduct technical reviews of proposals and other greenhouse gas management projects and make recommendations for improvements, Interface directly with clients and address client problems/questions/comments in a clear, professional manner, and Lead, manage performance, hire and retain personnel for overall success in the practice.The URS Greenhouse Gas Management practice provides a fast-paced, dynamic work environment with unlimited opportunity for professional growth.
