With approximately 13,500 employees worldwide, and annual sales of $2 billion, Kennametal is represented in more that 60 countries.Globally headquartered in an eastern suburb of Pittsburgh, PA, since 1938, Kennametal has become an industry leader in the manufacturing of industrial products such as metal cutting tools, engineered components and advanced materials. With revenues greater than $2.7 billion, operations in over 60 countries and greater than 50% of its revenues outside of North America, Kennametal is truly a global company.   As we continue to expand our market share geographically and better serve industry segments, having industry experts to point out challenges and opportunities is key to the innovation and growth of the organization. This position reports to the Director, Global Segment Leadership. The position requires minimal supervision and substantial global travel (estimated at 40%). All areas of responsibility are tied to corporate, division and business unit level strategic objectives and are reviewed monthly and quarterly in line with financial reporting periods. Goals related to growth of KMTs business in the Durable Goods Industry segment (Die & mold, Small Parts, Medical, Jobs Shops...) are reviewed on a monthly and quarterly basis. Goals are set that span one year completion with quarterly milestones. Supervision is quarterly with project updates as required. Job Responsibility and Duties·         Builds market segment strategic plans and effects on Kennametal ·         Maintain and Disseminate information on new projects/programs, emerging processes ·         Lead Customer Segmentation process to target key customers for cross-divisional approach by industry·         Assess Global Industry Business Needs and recommend new product developments·         Drive inorganic growth opportunities based on industry/process needs ·         Develop management programs for key accounts, develops customer profiles with sales teams·         Leads teams (not direct staff) to address customer needs, optimize product mix and value·         Develop customer strategic plans, capture strategies, share of wallet for key accounts. Will be required to present these plans and strategies to executive managment ·         Develops cross-product initiatives with Product management to deliver solutions·         Assesses and recommends Industry Channel strategy ·         Works with Sales to ensure Marketing understands customer and market needs·         Leads closure of cross-divisional opportunities as directed·         Understand sub-markets and key customer processes·         Manage industry specific marketing activities such as symposiums, brochures, catalogs and web.
Experience and Skills:
·         BS in Business Administration with strong background in strategic B2B marketing. MBA Preferred·         Strong Durable Goods (or parts thereof) Industry experience required including complete understanding of OEMs, sub contractors and channels.·         International experience required with ability to establish strong network of relationships.·         General management experience with strong P&L background a strong plus ·         Minimum five years experience in a strategic marketing role.·         Demonstrated expertise in business strategy development and proven ability to create strategies that drive organic growth ·         Ability to work effectively in a matrixed team environment, directing internal and external resources to execute marketing strategies.·         Strategic and short-term planning and the ability to set priorities. ·         Proven track record of developing and implementing strategic and tactical marketing programs in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.·         Strong project management skills, attention to detail and follow-through are required. ·         Demonstrated ability to interface with customers, sales, product management, engineering, technology, distribution, inventory planning and executive management·         Broad knowledge of market research and analysis tools, techniques and applications. ·         Product and applications knowledge within the specific industry is a plus
