Domestic New Ventures is seeking an experienced geologist to focus on new growth opportunities in the Lower 48. The team’s primary focus is in areas outside of current production asset team efforts. The goal is to analyze subsurface information to generate and evaluate new prospect and play opportunities (including outside generated). The position involves close teamwork with business development, land, asset teams, engineers and working with and possible mentoring of other geoscientists.

Job Duties:The primary responsibilities include generation and evaluation of new plays/prospects (including outside-generated), the evaluation of discoveries and competitor activity and making presentations for new opportunity entries. Collaboration with business development, land, the business units, other geoscientists (including possible mentoring) and engineers. Building a strong external competitor evaluation and communicating the associated implications.Application of new technologies to new and/or unconventional plays.
